One of Tel Aviv’s oldest bars and a local classic. It’s a simple neighborhood bar that’s always packed, particularly when special events are held at the nearby theater or the Cinematheque, but always a fun hangout. Many actors, artists and culture icons frequent the Peacock and enjoy a menu that goes beyond regular bar food, plus alcohol for all tastes—fancy cognac connoisseurs, house wine lovers and the half-pint folk. The clientele is a bit on the older side, but youngsters are welcome. The pizza is excellent, as are the fish, cheeseburger, and slightly less conventional dishes such as hinkali, black lentil massabcha and chopped liver.
